You might think we live in a world where everyone is just in it for what they can get out of it. But I'm not convinced that's strictly true. So why not do something in your spare time in 2012? Maybe you could ask at a local school about helping children to read, or hand soup out at a homeless shelter. It could be something as simple as checking on an elderly neighbour. If you do get involved, people might tell you it's impressive, but the secret is that you get so much out of it, you're the big winner too. Regardless of your political persuasion, where you live or how much you earn, could 2012 be the year you give something back?
